Meet Hayley

Hi, I’m Hayley — writer, stylist, marketer, creator, serial idea-starter and firm believer that having more than one interest is not a problem to solve.
It’s the whole point.
I’ve spent years creating across different corners of the internet: blogging, beauty, style, seasonal content, Pinterest, branding, digital products and creative business. I’ve worked with brands, built audiences, launched projects, changed direction, started again and learned a frankly unreasonable amount about making content work.
And somewhere along the way, I realised I had no interest in squeezing myself into one neat little niche.
So Hayley A Young is where all of those threads come together.
Polymath profits through content creation
This site is about building income around the fact that you have multiple skills, multiple interests and more than one good idea.
You’ll find content about:
- blogging and content creation
- personal branding
- social media and seasonal strategy
- beauty, fashion and creative direction
- digital products
- affiliate marketing
- creator income
- building multiple online properties
- the realities of experimenting, pivoting and starting again
I’m interested in what happens when creativity and commercial thinking actually work together.
Not “pick one thing forever.”
Not “build a beige personal brand.”
Not “become a productivity machine.”
I’d rather build interesting things.
I’ve never really been a one-project person
I’ve been blogging for well over a decade, with projects spanning beauty, Christmas, style, business, kawaii culture, toys and more.
Some became long-term brands.
Some were experiments.
Some disappeared.
Some came back.
That has taught me something valuable: creative work compounds even when the individual projects change.
Every article teaches you something.
Every audience teaches you something.
Every campaign, collaboration, failure, sale, redesign and ridiculous idea adds another tool to the box.
This site is where I document what I’m learning as I turn that accumulated experience into a deliberately varied creator business.
Why “polymath”?
Because I don’t believe curiosity needs an apology.
You can love strategy and lipstick.
You can understand analytics and care deeply about typography.
You can build a business and still want to spend Friday afternoon making something purely because it looks brilliant.
Being multi-passionate can feel chaotic when the internet keeps telling you to niche down.
My approach is different.
Create the ecosystem.
Let different projects serve different purposes.
Let your skills overlap.
Let one idea feed another.
Then build the commercial structure underneath it.
What I care about
I care about useful content.
Strong ideas.
Distinctive brands.
Good writing.
Creative independence.
Making money without pretending every idea is going to make you a millionaire.
And creating a body of work that actually feels like the person who made it.
You won’t find much beige around here.
Welcome to the experiment
Hayley A Young is part portfolio, part creator-business laboratory and part record of what happens when someone decides not to choose between all the things she is good at.
I’ll share what works.
I’ll share what doesn’t.
I’ll probably start a few things that make absolutely no sense until they suddenly do.
And if you’ve ever looked at your collection of interests and wondered how on earth you are supposed to turn them into something coherent, profitable and unmistakably yours—
you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Hayley A Young.
